Billy,

How did you handle the wiring for the extra porch light?  Is it battery powered?

Ron, the light was not easy. Mounting was easy; getting the wire inside was easy. Over the entry door I found 12 volts BUT from the light to the wiring to the switch was an S. O. B.   I did not like it but the wires from the light I had to run in the inner corners of the cabinets to the switch. The switch is on the bulkhead at the right side as you enter the door.

DJM, the towel bars were purchased from Home Depot. You do need to attach two small brackets to the wall with screws and then the towel bar ends slip over the brackets and an allen wrench to tighten the towel bars. If you need more Iíll be happy to take a towel bar down and post more pictures.

I added a couple of pictures to my web site

PS:  Ron, I am having problems posting pictures on the forum, I know how to do it but I think my pictures have to many kilobits. I have my Kodac Digital set for the fewest kb but still no good. I have a Mac Book Pro. Help!

Billy,
Check my write-up under General Discussion.  I explain how I post my pictures using my MAC.  I find it very easy to do, now that I found a procedure I like.

Billy:

I guess I asked the question wrong.  I really meant did you screw right into the wallboard?  How did you find support? Did you use wall anchors or did you just screw it in?

Thanks

David

Sorry, I have for the time being used a little larger screw then supplied. I figured if or when they get lose I use molly bolts. (wall anchors)

Hi Billy.

Can you provide information regarding the light you installed?

Thanks.

I purchased the light in Quartzsite but I know i'll seen the on line, can't remember where. I'll keep looking.

Or did you want more info on installation?

About that extra porch light, I understand your challenge.  It was for the same reasons that I decided to do without a second and/or thrid light.  I really wanted a total of 3 porch lights along that side of my rig with lower wattage bulbs installed for more evenly distributed softer lighting for night time.  But after I realized I'd have to route wires out in-view, I decided to live with what I have.  Oh well.  If I later find it more important, I'd look into decorative wire channel to hide the wiring inside the motor home.  If I ever special order another motor home, I'd be sure to add such little extras during it's construction.  I would also have the main porch light positioned 1 or 2 feet over to get the swarm of bugs that much farther from the door.

It called a Smart Light 1000, the one I have is a SL1000. You can find the here

OR on Google search enter Smart Light and you will get plenty of hits. Sorry to take so long, billy

Thanks Billy.

I like it and will probably buy it to replace the light next to the door.

If it works well, I'll consider installing another on the street side.

I thought about replacing the original light but my next trick might be to replace it with another motion light, WHO KNOWS?

PS Street side sounds good too.      :)(:
