I have a Protect-a-Tow that works well.  Fits under the hitch from the PC to the Honda.  Costs about $220.00, but it is easy to use.  Here is a link.

Well, I finally got around to looking into my seat problem.  Turns out that the control wires were routed through the opening that the control cog travels.  The cog cut through the wire loom and shorted things out.  My solution was to cut the wires (about 6 or 7 of them) on both ends, pull the severed ones out, re-route them, and splice them back together.  IT WORKED!!!

Oh...the reason it took so long to get to???? It finally cooled down here in Texas to do things on the PC.

Again, thanks for the additional comments.  I am back in Texas now, and I will take the time to follow up on possible causes for the short. is HOT here compared to northern NM.   pulling hair out

By the way...I pulled into TreeTops RV park in Arlington today and there is another PC here.  Don't see that often out here.  I'll have to check to see who it is.

Thanks for the comments.  Bob, I did look under the seat and couldn't spot anything easy to check out.  John, I forgot that the Ford warranty was longer than the one on the coach.  Even though Ron is probably right, I will still attempt to check it out with Ford when we get back home.  Meanwhile we will just enjoy this cool weather and the beautiful mountains.

We have taken our PC from Texas to cool Eagle Nest, NM (between Angle Fire and Red River) and are enjoying the weather and RV friends.  I have a few weeks before we return power seat on E-450 doesn't work.  I checked the fuse and found it was blown.  I put in another one...and guess what?... exactly!  It blew!  Any ideas on where to start chasing down the electrical problem causing this?

On the good side, the seat is at my normal driving position so that I can get home in late August if I don't solve it, but since you guys are so smart, I thought I would ask.

BJ and I want to add our "Welcome" to Earl and at the same time say a quick "Farewell" to Stuart.  Stuart spent a lot of time with us at Louisville this past summer, and sold us our 3100.  We enjoyed working with him and meeting his wife while we were at the Rally.  We wish him well in whatever path he follows.  (If you see Stuart, tell him I still can't spell "nint...ninetie...oh well...90!)  obliged

I didn't seem to have the intellectual capacity to respond to this.  However, my wife BJ did. (Any of you who met her in Kerrville will find it in keeping with her personality.)

She said, "I would want to be President of the United States...and "DRILL, BABY, DRILL' into that 2000 year reserve we have trapped underground!!!!" HighFive

Of course, if we did that, there would be plenty of gas for our PC's

Great responses from both Bob and Barry.  I ran into this problem last summer at our month-long, first-trip in our 3100.  I didn't know the "technical" stuff (DC passing throught the whatchacallit, et. al.), but I got it to work.  Thanks for these really clear explainations.

Hello Wes...and welcome!  We got our PC 3100 in June, and we are pleased with the purchase.  I notice that you are in Texas, as I am, (Tyler)but I didn't see where.  There is a used 3100 right now at Professional Sales RV in Colleyville.  I see that you are more interested in a smaller unit, but if you are in or near the DFW area, the people at ProSales are top notch.  Neal helped us get our first two RVs, and everyone at this family owned dealership has integrity.

Anyway...I hope you find what you are looking for soon.  Our state is pretty large, but maybe we will be at the same place at the same time.  The people on this forum are fantastic.  I learn something almost every day.   Our best to you.

Thanks for sharing this.  I have had trouble with all the struts on these doors since the day we got it.  Right now they are just disconnected.  I haven't decided what to do about it yet.  Maybe this is the answer.

Hello jfolk...and welcome.  My wife BJ and I got a 3100 in June and drove it back from the Louisville Good Sam Rally.  We and it did just fine.  We had a Newmar Ventana 39' DP until a few months ago.  We decided that we didn't need an RV that was bigger/nicer than our house so we shopped long and hard for the one we got.  We were out last weekend with our RV club and things went well.  We will be leaving for northern NM Monday for a month in cool weather.

There obviously is a difference in driving a DP and a Phoenix Cruiser or any other unit this size.  Our trip back from Louisville covered about 800 miles, so I felt that was a pretty good test.  We had no problems at all, and in fact felt less "push" from the trucks passing us than we did in the A.  We were towing our Honda CRV, and again, had no issues.

The PC people are good folks.  Also, I have found this forum to be fantastic.  I have learned more in a few months of reading these posts than anything else I have read.  Keep asking questions and I know you will get good answers.
