I lost one on posting too, yes we can - or not.

The rating system has probably been discussed many times, but it is aggravating when one posts a funny that leans to one side or the other of any subject that someone can sneak a disapproving position by docking the poster's "helpfuls". They do this without making a comment which seems somewhat cowardly to me.

Most of the "helpfuls" are earned by presenting a solution to a PC or RV problem. It seem disingenuous that they can be removed by someone objecting to the usual light fare that is posted "around the campfire" which generally has nothing to do with PCs.

This problem could be partially resolved by requiring the objector to post a comment showing their objection or position before being able to dock someone. I'll bet the sneaking around would be drastically reduced. Just my thoughts on the subject.

PS: Of course the simplest method would be to not make the "helpful" field available on the "Around the Campfire" forum. If someone wants to show agreement or disagreement, then all they have to do is post a comment.

I was in a public toilet and had just sat down, when I heard a voice from the next cubicle, he said Hi!, how are you?

Embarrassed, I said, Im doing fine.

The voice said So what are you up to?.

I said, Just doing the same as you, sitting here!.

From next door, Can I come over?. Annoyed, I said, "rather busy right now.

The voice said, Listen, I will have to call you back, theres an idiot next door answering all my questions"

I only once docked you one point and this was not me this time. That time is over and done with, so I thought.
I actually found parts of it very funny. so here is a helpful.

Thanks for the the "helpful". Oops, just had it taken away (must have been the Obama comment)-got to learn to watch my mouth.

Dagnabit, After posting another "around the campfire" funny, I've been docked another point. It took me a long time to gain back all the docking that I got from Tom and now I'm going back down the hill again.  Grin.

PS: Kudos to those that gave me my points back and apologies to Tom. If Obama can finally apologize for misleading statements, then so should I.  Grin

I used to use a 50 amp twist lock to a 30 amp male adapter on a previous 5th wheel. Very handy when only 30 amps are available at the pedestal (or at the house):

http://www.amazon.com/Conntek-14381-Pigtail-Adapter-Connector/dp/B002CZ7D60/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1384365545&sr=8-4&keywords=50+amp+to+30+amp+adapter

I still have the adapter if you think you could use it. Just send me a message.

Congrats on the new PC. Next should be lakefront site involving some fishing for a complete shakedown.  Grin I think Kermit would share some or all of your expense for the power cord.

If you have to fool with the thermostat anyway, you might consider a separate thermostat for the propane furnace. I have had one in my last four RVs and it works great for hot evenings and cold mornings. If you have the heatpump, it will quit working at about 45 degrees. Just some thoughts. Enjoy!

Nice!  Congrats!  (Some definite jealousy going on here)  -Mike

If Northern California doesn't break off from California, then come to my area (LA) where you can live for a third of what you pay in California. We may not have the ocean, but the Gulf is calmer. Thanks for the Congrats!
 Cheers

Where did you get this bracket?

Barb we got the bracket at http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/flat-panel-lcd-tv-wall-mount-bracket-with-double-swing-arm-extension-137.html.  If you need more installation pictures let me know.  We did counter sink the backet ever so slightly and added the dark box as access for all the cables.Sue

What do you use to secure the bracket when traveling? Is your TV a 32"? Thanks!
41  Main Forum / General Discussion / Re: Noisy converter? on: November 08, 2013, 09:37:29 am
I had assumed that it was the converter because the inverter was switched off behind the driver's seat. If the inverter fan runs whether switched on or off, then I'm still surprised that when new it was quiet and now noisy. I'm almost always hooked to shore power so I could just turn off the circuit breaker (or is it fused?) to the inverter. Is the inverter only used for the TV and equipment or are some of the outlets fed by the inverter?

Just recently our converter has become noisy. I assume that it's the fan, but when new it didn't make any noticeable noise. Any suggestions on quieting it? Thanks!

We bought a used fishing pontoon boat and enjoyed it this week at our lot on Guntersville lake. The developer has just completed a boat storage building and we grabbed one before they were all gone. Great storage with electricity. Pic attached-need to put a trolling motor on the bow.

We tow a Lincoln MKX which is probably 100 or so # less than your AWD. We tow with a 3100 which is heavier than your 2552. You will have no problems.
45  Main Forum / General Discussion / Re: TV Bracket(s) on: October 15, 2013, 10:53:07 am
I'm assuming it is a bracket on the bottom of the TV. It looks like a metal plate with a screw-in knob that is at least an inch across. It screws UP into the TV.

It sure sounds like you have a swivel bracket of some type. Have you tried removing the knob (carefully) and see what it is holding? I've been thinking about adding a swivel bracket to change the angle when viewing from the sofa.
