Kudos to Ron for his recommendations....we just had Koni RV shocks and Roadmaster Heavy Duty front and rear swaybars installed....against the advice of our RV mechanic!  Well, after testdriving before and after - our mechanic is a believer now too.  The ride is wonderful - I do not feel like I'm driving an 18 wheeler - quieter too.

Our 2551 2010 is much happier----all due to the suggestions on this list. Thanks!

Glen - Sign me up for your team!! I ditto your list!

WE have a new 2551...no slide.  Because we are 2 women traveling alone we need as few variables as possible in terms of WHAT CAN GO WRONG!  The no slide option is fabulous for us....all a matter of preferences I guess!

I am a little confused.... we have direct TV at home.  All we did was take the receiver out of the spare bedroom (we don't expect any guests while using the RV) and hook it up in the RV.  Out sat was installed at the factory in Elkhart.

The TVs work both front and rear in our unit(2551) but two different channels may NOT be watched.

Good luck - this can be a frustrating problem when you are out in the boonies and cut off from everyone and everything!!

There used to be a fold up/take apart canoe sold or advertised by National Geographic.  I owned one in the '70s.  It was great....waterproof and folded to about 6/4,  The name is pronounced fo boat....do not recall the spelling.......hope this helps send you in a successful direction

Wow - we are on our first 10 day trip from home and love our new PC-2551.  And yes we bought new already made from Stuart with no slide - a special situation.  Gotta say I agree with Ron Dittmer- I love no slide....everything gets put away immediately....no housekeeping messiness!  what you see is what you get....we love our new baby just the way she is.

Thanks so much for measuring the actual vehicle for me.  I have some things to think about before Monday!  On the surface it seems like we will be OK though.

Thanks

Thanks for the wise words!  I am actually "raising the roof" of my garage as we live in a very conservative community in the midwest....our area built in the 50s does not even allow double car garages that are on the front of the house!  Makes for a lovely neighborhood but somewhat restrictive!

Anyway - I pick up our PC in two weeks and meanwhile am doublechecking on the height I need....they demolish the roof on my present garage on Monday - then raise the roof 4 feet later in the week.  I am looking at an 11 garage door - hope that is high enough!!??!!

Any suggestions are welcome Grin

Morning
I enjoy all the info y'all figure out and share! It makes our Cruisers so special!

i have a question....Does anyone know how high the 2551 is with the roof TV Satellite dish installed at the factory?  I am remodeling my garage(door) and want to be sure to be tall enough....I understand that with the AC it is 10'1".....and think the Dish may be 15 "........now if i can get the AC height or total height with the satellite----we will have the problem solved....isn't 4th grade math fun!!>>!!

Thanks

We are busily reading everything we can find about options and rennovations we should explore for our new 2551 - y'all are a wealth of info!  Thanks!!

With the "pick-up" trip to Elkhart coming up next month.....are there any PC veterans out there with recommendations of "don't miss" spots to visit while in northern Indiana?  We plan to spend a couple of days getting acquainted with our new PC and suggestions are welcome....

Also - other than our regular camping routine, do y'all have any ideas of special checks we should do while "checking out our new baby"?????

Wow just signed a contract for a 2010 2551....excited to start on our new journey!

My partner and I already own and stationary camp in our 1967 Airstream Caravelle(Bambi)...but thought we would step up a bit for on the road.  I retire next month and we will be able to plan our getaways based on weather and considerations other than work!

Loved hearing about Karma's rennovations...especially the galley mirror!!??!! who would have needed that there?  And making a book shelf from the valance - I was wondering where to keep my books- great idea!

Happy RVing!
