When you get real serious about purchasing; take the time and trouble to go visit the PC factory in Elkhart, IN.  They are wonderful people.

Most of the workers have worked there many years.  They are dedicated to building a quality product.  They work together and their product pride shows.

Start at the 1st point in assembly where the bare chassis comes into the plant.  Take your time and ask questions.  You will get answers, not excuses.

Also note the plant parking lot is not full of junk cars.  Means the workers are being paid a fair wage.

When you see how they are constructed I'm sure your purchase decision will be much easier.

Have any of you come up with a solution to help curb the loud noise of the ceiling ac/heater unit?  We love our 3100 but hate the overhead noise.

Trish and I are headed to the Brooksville Rally tomorrow (Friday).  We decided to hold off until the rains passed and the weather warmed up a little.  We look forward to possibly meeting some other PC owners.

We met a great couple from over in Alabama (Larry and Seji) at the Tampa RV Show .  They gave us their contact info and I can't find it anywhere.  Too many pockets.  Hopefully they will email or call us as we want to meet them in Gainesville for the National Drag Races in March.

We hope to meet some of you at the FMCA Rally tomorrow or Saturday.

Thanks for the heads-up on the recall.  Had all seven replaced yesterday with 27,000 miles on them.  No charges for balance and nitrogen refill at Boulevard Tires in Mt Dora. FL.  The mechanics pointed out that my alignment was really off according to the tire wear patterns.  I took the RV to Gibson's Alignment Center in Leesburg, FL and they had to replace a alignment part related to the camber of the wheels.  The motorhome drives amazingly better.

We live in Florida and I simply keep some bug off spray and Dawn detergent water in a spray bottle.  If you stay up to date and don't let the bugs get baked on they don't appear to be a big problem down here.  It also helps to keep your vulnerable areas freshly waxed.

I had our mechanic install a fuse disconnect button on our dash. offers a simple kit for $15+_ and it is a easy installation for an experienced mechanic.  Works great.

Trish and I are planning on attending the rally.  We have not definitely committed to being there the full  time.  We will repost when we know for sure.  It would be great if we got several Phoenix owners to attend for a "mini-rally" and fellowship.

We are making our reservations today.

Thank you for the information.  We'll have to see if we can make it.  Trish and I have been up the Cog Railroad to the top of Pikes Peak.  It is a wonderful experience.  Fantastic views.  Be sure and wear some warm winter clothes as the weather on top of Pikes Peak at 14,000 feet plus can be brutal even though it is shorts weather down below.  We'd also recommend that you take a couple of bottles of water as the air gets very thin on top and you need the oxygen from the water to help with breathing.

Can someone tell me when and where the 2014 rally will be held.  Also can you advise me of the costs, how many days it lasts, contact person for reservations and where to monitor for more information on activities etc?
13  Main Forum / General Discussion / Re: Window tint, driver and passenger side windows on: November 18, 2013, 05:18:40 pm
We had our side windows and windshield tinted last year before heading out to the southwest.  It wasn't too expensive and we felt it was a worthwhile investment.  I'd recommend 3M or Llumar.  The side windows are darker than the windshield as the windshield is covered by law as to how dark it can be.  It helps keep the sun rays from cooking you and your copilot.
14  Main Forum / General Discussion / Winter travel and overnighting iin low 20 degree weather on: November 13, 2013, 07:12:24 pm
We plan to visit relatives in Northern Indiana over Thanksgiving and we are concerned about what needs to be done for a two night visit in possible freezing weather. We plan to head to Florida for the winter the day after Thanksgiving.  We have a 2011 Model 3100 which we love and don't want to damage.  We plan to either plug in to their 110 system with a heavy duty cord to our RV or we can run our generator along with two cube catalytic heaters inside.  Do we need to run the tank heater in the bath?  Do we need to leave the water heater turned on?  Do we need to open any specific doors or drawers. Should I induce RV antifreeze anywhere before we leave home?   I used to be pretty good at doing the necessary things but they seem to escape me with age.  Any help would be appreciated.

I misspoke above calling the heater a catalytic heater.  They are little ceramic cube electric heaters.  No liquids are used.  Thanks so much to those who have offered winterizing suggestions for Trish and I.  They are appreciated very much.
15  Main Forum / General Discussion / Re: Water pressure? on: January 21, 2012, 04:27:31 pm
We are sitting in our driveway getting ready to head to the Tampa RV Show in the morning.  I'll hook up our city water to double check, but I think the problem is only when using carried water.  I'll check and repost.

Our in house shower hose is quite flexible and easy to use.  We love it/  I'm going to look at the Tampa show for a solution to the hose issue   Looking forward to seeing Stuart, Amanda and the Phoenix folks. as well as the 2012's.  Gotta check the hoses on the new models.  Maybe Stuart will want to trade them out.  "That is hoses" not RV's.

I believe the pressure problem must have been debris in the tank blocking the inlet, as it was okay when the inlet hose was hooked to our house.  And it was okay at the Tampa Show using coach water.

I found a perfect new shower hose after returning from the Tampa Show.  Bought it at Lowe's for $23.  It is flexible and has good length and metal fittings.
