To answer some of the questions and comments on Progressive's Hard wired Unit.
Progressive is very easy to work with. When my surge fuse blew they sent a new small circuit board which took a couple of minutes to install with easy instructions. It looked like a small fuse was blown on the board and if it happened again I might just try to replace the fuse first.

I think that with the 2551 & 2552, the only units I'm familiar with, that it would be very easy to wire it in yourself, it goes under the long bed and you just need room to mount it ahead of the converter. I would get the remote display and it is easy to get the phone wire over to near the battery compartment.

Mine is installed downstream of the generator and it works fine.
