What is the longest length of sewage hose you've had to run from the PC, normally.  I know there are those times that would be extraordinary, but in general, what length of hose would you be comfortable with 90% of the time?  Will it vary that much from site to site or camp to camp?

If you are talking about the 3 inch hose, I use a 15 foot hose. I carry an 10 foot extension hose that is still in the box. It seem tthat over the years I have used between 15 to 20 of hose with out any problems.

Mike

I carry a 6', 10'and a 15' 3"hose.  I think I have used all three twice in the last 10 years.  It is usually in the parks that the sewer hookup was not thought out very well, i.e. the sewer hookup was installed in awkward locations compared to where the camper is parked.

80% of the time I only need to use the 6 footer.

For those times we don't have fullhooks I use a 10 gallon blue dumper.  The smaller size makes it easy to use and store.

Here is how I carry the hoses

I carry a 50' garden hose that hooks to outlet of the macerator hose. I never use a standard sewer hose.
I can pump to outhouses or a sewer not near my RV.

John: noticed you have solar panel on your 2552 (I'm getting one on my ordered 2350).  What is the make and model of your batteries?

In the 6 years we've owned our 2350 with macerator, I've always dumped with the system as designed without using any extra hoses or tubes.  But we don't put solids into the black tank.  Just liquids.  I dump the black first, then flood it with the gray water and keep going.  I don't utilize the flushing feature.  I figured it isn't as important without solids to consider.  When back home, I do my tank sanitation process pouring in a little bleach and fill the tank to the tippy top, let sit a while, then drain, fill again, drain again.  The tank level sensors seem to like it too.

Funny that every trip, we always have at least one moment when someone else dumping will walk over and ask about our system.  There they are with gloves, sometimes wearing goggles, sometimes a mask, sometimes more.

I do it bare handed.  My wife hands me a Clorox wipe when I'm finished.  I do move the hose around as it expands to keep it on a clean surface.
