Our plans have changed for our upcoming trip and we are now headed to DC and then Delaware/New Jersey.  Looking for suggestions on campgrounds in either Delaware or New Jersey.  We'll be staying at Cherry Hill in College Park and then heading out after Labor Day.

We've never been here, but this place was recommended more than once to us.

Liberty Harbor Marina and RV Park
Jersey City, NJ

The views look amazing and appears to be a great location for side trips to NYC.

It is a parking lot on a peat bog. No ground fires or the whole campground would burn. Very $$$$$. about $90 a night.

Hope youre wrong about Liberty Harbor RV Park were headed there next week for 10 days.  Seeing NYC with Adventure Caravans: http://adventurecaravans.com/tour/new-york-city/.  Was in NYC many years ago, but never saw all the sights.  Anxious to see the 9/11 site and memorial.  The RV Park Reviews website gives the campground good reviews: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/New_Jersey/Jersey_City.html.  Guess well find out.  nod

Hi Barry & Sue
We stay at Butterfly Campground in Jackson, NJ in the summer.  You will need a toad to go any where, it's in the woods.  A lot of family's on weekends but quiet during the week.  Owners are great people. They live in Ft Myers during the winter.  Unfortunately we will be heading south next week or we could get together.  Hope to see you in Florida this winter.

Jackson is a pretty good location, too.  The shore from Asbury Park to Cape May (incl. Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood) are all very accessible, and Philadelphia is a nice day trip.  I'm originally from CT and spent a lot of time in Wildwood.  Many campgrounds along highway 9.  Beaches shouldn't be too crowded after Labor Day.

Go here:http: //www.libertyharborrv.com/park-information and note about fires, extra vehicle and check out.
The only other campgrounds near NYC are an hour away.
Good luck and have fun.

You can also go to maps.google.com and type in Liberty Harbor RV Park in the search block on the map. Once the map pulls up, click on the box marked "earth" in the lower left. You can see the RVs in the sites.

Stay as far away from Timberland Lake Campground as you can.  Muddy, tight, narrow, tree's not trimmed or cut for clearance, 3 grand later ...................

in DE Cape Henlopen State Park is pretty good, although like any place near the beach you might want to make a res.  I'd say come visit us, but we'll be heading to CO Sprngs. Enjoy your trip...
