Looking for somewhere warm to go in Jan. Stumbled on the Baja and Back guided caravans, and am seriously thinking about it. Anyone used them, or have any advice for a Jan trip to Baja (and back).

To each his own, but I hate caravans.
Too many campers filling up small campgrounds and roads.
However if travelling to Mexico makes you nervous maybe going in a group would ally your fears.

We travel by ourselves and have been from one end of Mexico to another.

A little company is fun.
We often travel with others we meet at campgrounds along the way.
It seems many have similar itineraries, so we keep bumping into each other.

A big group with a bossy leader is very tiresome.

We like to travel at our own pace, spending more time doing things we enjoy.
Even when travelling with one another RV we decide where we will get to that night and then travel by ourselves. Stopping along the way when we want and traveling at a speed I like.

We use a laptop computer with a small GPS plugged into USB port. The best map program for Mexico is Microsoft Streets & Trips. You can download a free 60 day trial.
