camping chairs
« on: June 04, 2011, 09:09:27 pm »
I was sitting here wondering what kind of outside camping chairs we use and where do we store them when going down the road?

1.) zero gravity chair
2.) Director's chair
3.) Sling chair (cheapo's fro Wally World)
4.) Folding chairs.

Any other I have missed?

We have two of these camoflash, purchased from Aldi's on clearance, I think I paid $7 each.

We use the zero gravity chairs. George built storage under the driver's side bed for 2 chairs in the 2551. In the 2350, we had room for them in the outside storage.

The reason I ask this is that I have not really found a good spot to stash 4 chairs without taking up lots of space.

We bought two Xpress lounger chairs for the PC. You can see them here: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/x-press-lounger/42641 They can be had for a cheaper price on-line, just scan for them. Two of them stack in the rear passengers side compartment on the top shelf. I think four would also stack and only take up half the compartment. They are a little on the heavy side, but that is what makes them comfortable to sit on. They come in several colors but we bought the green ones at Ganger Mountain. I understand from the search that REI and Dicks also carry them. You might want to check them out if you can handle the price. I had to think awhile about the price myself.

I understand.  It's just us two with a model 2350, so two chair sacks are no issue with the large outdoor storage compartment.

I've noticed a 2350 with a slide these days has a much smaller outdoor storage compartment.  What did they do, place the furnace or inverter under the bed?  Between that and the outdoor drawer, the under-bed exterior storage got significantly smaller.

We also have the telescoping chairs that Tom has.  Not sure if it is the same brand.  We purchased 2 at BJ's for $20 each.  We like how compact they are.  In our 2350, we put the two inside behind our barrel chair.

Here is a picture of my rear passenger storage area. The two chairs fit on the left with the Weber baby Q (100) grill on the right. The handle is my windshield washer pole. Normally I have other things in here depending on where we are going and for how long.

Ron, the compartment is not as deep as yours because when you get the sofa, the converter, sub woofer, water pump, fresh water tank and the maid's quarters take up all the room under the bed.

It looks interesting Tom.  I wish I could make your picture bigger.

BTW:  Our 2350 does have the fresh water tank and water pump in that rear compartment under the bed, just like all 2350s.  The other items you mentioned are mounted as follows.
- subwoofer under front dinette bench
- inverter under the main clothes closet
- furnace under the inverter or fridge....I can't recall which one.

Okay, a question......What is the "maid's quarters" ?

I think you who have the inverter under the bed, have some nice drawers under the main closet.  We don't have drawers there.  Just a venting cabinet door with the inverter inside.

WHAT! Your PC didn't come with a live-in maid?  :-D (nod) Must of been an option you didn't check. She would need some place to sleep, now wouldn't she!  roflol >(

Hey Tom:

Those chairs look like just the ticket.  I will look for them this weekend.    The maid's quarters is in our back wing of our home.,  When we camp we like to rough it Phoenix Cruiser style.....

We’re not big fans of the “bucket” chairs. Bought these two traditional chairs on sale at Camping World. The 3100 has a storage compartment under the slide-out just like storage compartment next the batteries on the passenger side. I keep all the electrical and water connection stuff there; very convenient for hookups. These two chairs just fit in the rear storage area.

I remember very few of the things that I’ve spent money to buy, but I remember all of the places that I’ve spent money to see.
