Shall I assume you've been to Dead Horse Point State Park?
Absolutely, spectacular view from the overlook, the cliffs you see across the river is Chicken Corner and we had done that 4 x 4 ride the day before so we saw Dead Horse Point overlook from below the first time. We go to Moab in the Fall, but I think we may skip it this year as my wife broke her ankle on both sides and the lower leg 8 weeks ago and is now just starting to bear weight on it with crutches, I would be concerned breaking down in the back country and having to hike out. We will definitely go next year. Our favorite trail is White Rim, the switchbacks getting down to the plateau are awesome. Bob

Don't take the chance of a breakdown and consequent hike out. It's a big place and Moab's not going anywhere. The Moab area is a wonderful experience and it doesn't seem to get old no matter how many times you go. I still like the old cowboy films, many which were made in Canyonlands. Of the almost 50 State and National Parks in Utah, Canyonlands seems to have a spirit of its own. But they are all worth seeing at least once.

I clicked on several of the topics and the "other" button. I do not understand how everyone could of missed the most important one, "CAMPING". This past weekend we went CAMPING with two other couples and had a great time. We parked the PC on Friday afternoon and it did not move until Sunday at checkout time. We sat a talked, cooked on the grill and played games and cards. Oh yea we also ate and ate. We plan on doing it again next weekend at a different campground. The campground is having a (from their web site) "Hawaiian Luau: We’re roasting a pig ($); bring a covered dish/dessert. Party games, such as limbo, hula hoop, and more with DJ Randy! Best-dressed contest.". We plan on having another great weekend. Yes we do the beach thing, sightseeing, shopping and all that other stuff at different times, but still think that the most important is camping.

We no longer own a PC. We had two of them and loved them both. Due to changing health and no longer camping, we wanted a touring coach. Phoenix does not make a class B so we had to turn to a Winnebago Travato 59K in March 2018

It only takes a weekend to recharge sometimes. Last weekend was only an hour away in Gettysburg, Pa and next weekend is only one and half hours from home at Western Village RV resort in Carlisle, Pa. We do some fast hard traveling at times but still love to take a weekend to just camp.

Roger that w/e thing. We'll be doing a w/e on our anniversary just up the road in Sedona, AZ in NOV & will be leaving for the Cool Breeze Century bike tour in Ventura, CA next wk (although that will be more of a hard drive - just a stop in Blythe, probably Mayflower SP, on the way over & straight through on the way back). W/our travelling partners; our folks, getting on in age, the w/e trip is appearing more apropos. For years we've been going to McDowell Mt Park for a few days over the New Year holiday & it's great to just park the PC & enjoy the area. Retiring from my full-time gig next year & will celebrate w/trip to Elkhart/Canada/Niagra/Savannah/Charleston & points in between. May get the opportunity to see some of the folks on this forum while traveling. Stay well,
