I think the world knows how I felt about the air mattress on the sofa bed in my Sprinter!!!

The folks at Phoenix replaced the monster with a tri fold, electric model they used previously with EXTRA foam and, boy, what a difference!!!!  If any of you all dislike the air mattress half as much as I did, I heartily recommend this change -- FWIW, it makes all the difference in the world!!! Give Stuart or Amanda a call....and sleep well!

All the best,
Jack

Jack,  Given you have a 2400 means that couch "is" your bed.  Though I don't have your situation, I surely understand the need for a better bed.

That is great information for those who regularly sleep on an old jackknife sofa (with standard cushioning) or airbed.  Some people here state the extra foam you mention is Memory Foam.

I gave you a "Helpful" rating.

Thanks Ron --- I meant the post to be helpful!!!  I believe PC is using memory foam in all their sofa beds now -- the two individual recliners in the Fords, and this "new" tri fold in the sprinters.... Two big improvements from a great company...

Jack,

We had the trifold in our 2350 08 model and really liked it as well.  What we did to smooth out the gaps between the sections was use a thin piece of memory foam under the fitted sheet.  It made all the world of difference in not feeling the gap between the three sections.  It then folded up easily and stored behind the couch.  ENJOY

Hi Sue!!

thanks - we had a piece of foam with us (for the d___ air mattress!) but didn't use it.  I was ok, but Linda will use it next time!!!  Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Jack, Id like to converse more with you.  The blow-up mattress that came with our 2400 has just now started leaking.  This will be the 2nd one.  The first one was replaced by the company, but in the meantime, we purchased an Aerobed mattress, which we like very much.  However, we would be delighted NOT to have a blow-up mattress. May we discuss this further?

Might I suggest that you go to Bed, Bath and Beyond and get the 3" memory form matters pad. You might want to put a blanket or two under the form, which you could store in the sofa in place of the air bed. You would have to roll up the form and put it behind the sofa for storage. Forget the air bed, none of them seem to hold air very long.

I'm in Canada now, with VERY sketchy email - wifi when I can get it, but would be happy to contact you when I return....
Indeed, I know the problems with the air mattress & mechanical sofa, if that's what you have.  The folks at Phoenix do have a solution in swapping an electric sofa bed, with extra foam that was much more comfortable.  You may want to give them a call....

Will email you anyway...

Best,
Jack
