Post by: Dick & Trish on November 21, 2013, 09:48:45 pm
Can someone tell me when and where the 2014 rally will be held.  Also can you advise me of the costs, how many days it lasts, contact person for reservations and where to monitor for more information on activities etc?

Thank you for the information.  We'll have to see if we can make it.  Trish and I have been up the Cog Railroad to the top of Pikes Peak.  It is a wonderful experience.  Fantastic views.  Be sure and wear some warm winter clothes as the weather on top of Pikes Peak at 14,000 feet plus can be brutal even though it is shorts weather down below.  We'd also recommend that you take a couple of bottles of water as the air gets very thin on top and you need the oxygen from the water to help with breathing.

We missed it by 1 year! We were in Colorado Springs 8/7-8/11. We couldn't get to the top of Pike's Peak because of snow on the top.

We did go to the Gardens of the Gods--it was fantastic. If time permits, take a tour of the Air Force Academy. We were sponsored by our nephew and stayed at the campground on the Academy grounds.

After Colorado Springs, we were off to Montrose KOA and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

We had a fantastic trip! Bring plenty of water--the altitude was brutal for the first couple of days.

Hi!
It will be in Colorado Springs, CO from Sept 11th-16th at the Garden of the Gods RV Park.  Featured tour Pikes Peak Cog Railroad.
Approximate cost is $370 for 2 people.
Look up InterVec -Phoenix Travel Club on the internet.  You will find links to a membership form, recent newsletter, club history, etc.
or send email to info@intervecphoenix.org

The Factory usually puts a form for a free years membership in every new RV
You used to be able to connect from the Phoenix USA factory website but I could not find it this time.

Hope this helps.

Yep, the link is there also.

I just mailed my application today to rejoin the club. I used the free one year when we got our 2010 2350 but let it expire at the end of the year. Now I want to rejoin so we can attend the rally this September. Can someone tell me where to get the paper work for the rally or do I have to wait unit I get conformation on joining the club?

You have to be a member to go to the annual reunion- unlike the RV West outings which are open to all and although majorly PC's , we do not use the Club accounts for anything- we all pay our own way going thru an individual's checking account if money is exchanged.
You should get a confirmation from Dave upon receipt of your check and application.
I will let him know that you are interested in the reunion.
Let me know if you do not hear anything in a timely manner. Dave is usually on top of everything.

It will be nice to meet you also. It is funny that we only live about an hour apart and have not met yet.

Maybe this spring or summer we can have a Phoenix east coast/mid Atlantic get together., maybe some where in southern Pennsylvania. That way we could draw folks from Maryland, Pennsylvania New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and any where else that want to come. I wonder if there is any interest in this type of get together? They seem to be having fun on the west coast with this type of get togethers.

Tom, we'd be in if we are close enough (more likely spring than summer). We expect to be in Maryland for spring break (April 11-19 or something) camping  with the granddaughter; then we work our way north/northeast. If location and timing line up, we'd skedaddle back to MD/PA for a gathering.

We cannot attend the annual rally in Colorado so we would be interested in a "local rally" where we could meet other PC owners. We already have a trip planned for early April to Virginia and North Carolina. Late April to mid May would work for us, but other dates throughout the summer would work as well.

Jim and Beth,

We are going to be at the Wild Duck Campground in Scarborough, ME 7/22-7/29 then we head to Acadia NP for 5 days and then on to Harpswell ME for all of August.

After that, our plan is to head to NH, VT and upstate NY and then on home to FL.

Send me a PM if that would work with any of your summer plans.

Tom- a great idea! Bob Mahon & I were kicking around the idea of getting together - maybe at a beach like Castaways or somewhereq on the coast .... We would be available...

Hello
We live on the Maine coast between Harpswell and Arcadia and as new PC owners  would very much enjoy meeting other owners.

Although we live on the west coast now, I grew up in CT so I think that makes us eligible to attend if the timing is right.  ;)

We are making our way east in May with an Erie Canal charter in early June. From there we'll be exploring the Adirondack area, and into New England.  We are taking the southern route home and should still be on the east coast until late July.  Would love to be a part of a gathering.

As JackD said, Peg and I would be up for an East Coast gathering, even if for nothing more than a weekend.

(cheer). Way to go, East Coast!   Hope you are able to make some gatherings work.  Yes, the West Coast is enjoying our gatherings and most times we have people that cannot get to the Annual National reunion and it is nice to get to know each other and share personally our travels and the little things we add or change or have found out about our PC's.  As with the Forum, we learn from one another.
Technology is great, but there is nothing like the personal gathering and sharing.

If the timing were right, we would be interested in meeting up for a East Coast get together.

RKS,
We just made our reservations for Blackwoods Campground at Acadia NP for 7/29 leaving on 8/3. Right now, the only firm commitment that we DO NOT have is for Orr's Island Campground for the month of August.

We always enjoy meeting PC owners. Our first PC was a 2350 on the Sprinter chassis--that was our first motorhome as well. Always had sailboats and power boats.

If you will be around in July/Aug send us a note and we will try to hook up.

Hey J&G, are you stopping by Promised Land this year?
Title: Re: 2014 Phoenix Crusier Rally

Bob and Peg,
We plan to--we will make reservations next month. We plan on reserving in the new campground in Promised Land. We stayed in the new one in 2012 on the way home and it was much better than the other one. I can't remember the names of either but they are both in Promised Land.

At this point, it looks as if it will be June 27 and then head to Mattapoisett on the 28th.

I soooooo wish they had an online signup for the club.  I keep meaning to join and never do just because I don't really do paper mail anymore.  I can't remember the last time I mailed an envelope.  Ah well.........

Maybe if there is an internet guru out there willing to donate their time to the travel club, they could set up online sign ups. I imagine they would have to use PayPal. Your spot is not reserved until they get your check. Our dilemma is that we didn't seem to get the email with the renewal and registration information. We were feeling unloved but figure it got caught in our company SPAM filter. It's that or we were REALLY bad at the polka last year.

Well, I do a couple of websites gratis for nonprofits, such as http://servecitychosen.org/.  Its pretty simple to add a payment method using PayPal.  Cost is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for low volume use. Payments go directly to your bank account.

Is there a list  of who has signed up  for the rally? I send in a check that has been cashed but I have not heard back anything yet. I would like to know who else is going.

Tom, at some point they send out a link to the registered people showing who is in each site with a picture of the people to help jog memories (you can pretend you remembered all the names that go with the faces). I suspect it is too early in the process for that yet.

I think this would be great, and so convenient for everyone.  They can even add the Paypal fees back on for folks opting to pay that way, I know I'd gladly pay the extra couple $$.  I use PayPal for Ebay and have never had an issue.
