General Discussion / Phoenix Cruiser Facebook x2
« on: May 12, 2018, 12:40:18 pm »
Now donít get me wrong, I really appreciate this forum and all the folks who generously help with advice and problem solutions. However, I have recently been active on one of two Phoenix Cruiser Facebook pages, with conversations with several PC owners including John and his wife (Jatrax). Great conversation with lots of pictures to compliment the topics. The second Phoenix Cruiser Facebook page is the Mothership page with pics if new and used PCs (which are also put on RV Trader).  Just thought I would mention this for those of you who have Facebook. Enjoy.  :)(:

General Discussion / Apollo Half Time Microwave/Convection oven
« on: May 08, 2018, 11:54:56 am »
It appears our 2012 PC2400 Sprinter was "blessed" with an Apollo Half Time Microwave/Convection oven which by all the reviews I have found online rates barely two stars.  I called Carol at the Mothership to see what it would take to replace it with the Sharp units they are using now; and she said 2012 was the only year Phoenix used the Apollo (turned out to be less than ideal), and today's units are full size residential microwave/convection ovens and would require extensive cabinet work and loss of cabinet storage over the sink.

We are researching better units (preferably Sharp) to replace this culinary disgrace and were wondering if anyone on the forum has done this and what microwave/convection oven did you use.  Inquiring minds and all that. . . . :help

General Discussion / Anderson Hitch Owner Defaces Nat'l Monument

General Discussion / Need a Euro chair
« on: April 13, 2018, 02:05:09 pm »
Does anyone have a Euro chair to sell that is in good shape that is being replaced with something else?  Our pre-owned 2012 PC 2400 Sprinter came with replacement barrel chairs which were not comfortable.  We can come get it depending on the location from Homewood, IL.  We will be heading south toward Houston, TX this at the end of this month; and later this year Houston then west to Mesa, AZ.    :)(:

Tips and Tricks / Got mice?
« on: November 30, 2017, 01:00:30 pm »
"Fawkes" is all set up for the Chicagoland winter; and during my weekly spot check, lo and behold. . .mouse droppings.  From the size it was a very small field mouse (as opposed to a larger gray house mouse).  Traps caught five after two weeks of setting them out.  The weather cleared temperature wise several days ago, and in order to find the way they were getting in we turned on all the lights in Fawkes and opened every cabinet, closet and other access areas.  I crawled under the PC and saw light bleed coming from the round opening where the fresh water tank drain goes through.  There was no coping or other attempt at covering, resulting in a 1/4" crescent shaped opening where the tube protruded.  I stuffed a bit of coarse steel wool into the opening and viola!  No more light bleed except through the semi-opaque drain tube; and, after a week, no more mice in the traps.   2o2  Easy schmeezy except for returning this 74 year old back to the upright in the driveway.    :)(:

General Discussion / Questions about the 2910-asking for a friend again
« on: November 13, 2017, 06:22:34 pm »
Well, my friends still haven't been given access to the forum.  :'(  The 2552 they went to see was gone when they got to the dealer; so they are still looking. . .possibly expanding their choices.  Her questions about the 2910:

The 2900 is a short queen in a slide... but I can't find anything about the retracting process or what it looks like when the bed slides in.  Can one leave the bedding on, as I assume it folds rather than stays flat (from the look of the floor plan)?  Part of the problem is (a) getting OUT of the bed at night (more than once, mind you!) - is there room to just plant your feet on the floor and get up, or does one need to slide down toward the end of the bed? and (b) if the bed folds, it is now like a sleeper sofa and very uncomfortable at the fold - or can one put a foam mattress topper on it?

Inquiring minds want to know. . . :)(:

General Discussion / Please comment on this PC2552-asking for a friend
« on: November 09, 2017, 10:49:43 pm »
Hi all. . .we mhave some very good friends who are considering buying a 2012 PC2552 shown in this link.

They are having a bit of difficulty signing on to the forum, so would all you 2552 owners out there chime in on this one and give with your insights (sight unseen, I guess).  They can "lurk" as Forum Guests but cannot post yet.  Thanks Guys!  heartshower    :)(:

General Discussion / Thinking about towing
« on: September 16, 2017, 05:42:09 pm »
Any PC Sprinter owners out there have any experience pulling a reasonable weight toad?  We are thinking of getting something in the 2500-3500lb weight range (CR-V, Hyundai accent, etc.) with a light weight Blue Ox hitch bar and braking assist; and were wondering if anyone had any issues of transmission heating or brake issues.  Inquiring minds and all that. . .  :)(:

General Discussion / More on leveling blocks...
« on: September 13, 2017, 09:30:24 am »
I started to dredge up an old thread on levelers and leveling blocks; but figured 'nuff said on all of those.  However, after having just returned from a trip to Montreal via some Ohio, PA and NY RV parks with varying level issues, I cannot praise these guys enough. . . https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T36J7ZQ/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I608KURSZTSUG&colid=2LUSJ51FSLEEE  From now on, I'll use my single wide Lynx Levelers on the front wheels and the double wide on the back.  I'm retiring the two Andersons; probably going into my next garage sale. If anyone in the area wants them, I'll sell both for $40.00 the pair (1/2 price)  They're too heavy to economically ship so you'll have to come and get 'em before we leave Chicagoland Oct. 5th.  ;)

General Discussion / News from "The Mothership" location

Putting the political comments in perspective, the main topic of the article makes me glad to be a Phoenix Cruiser USA customer.  http://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-workers-elkhart/#interactive-elkhart   ;)

General Discussion / "Ultra Leather" Wall Coverings
« on: June 11, 2017, 09:07:25 pm »
Has anyone had the flaking of "Ultra Leather" wall coverings similar to the seating issues?  We have small areas at the front of our 2400 just behind the cockpit seats covered with the same "Ultra Leather" as the cockpit seats; and although the driver and passenger seats are now covered with fabric seat covers, the walls are starting to show flaking.  Anyone else have a solution besides full wall fabric replacement?   :)(:

General Discussion / 12v on passenger side drops out
« on: June 03, 2017, 05:01:47 pm »
We have an intermittent 12v anomaly in our 2012 2400 Sprinter. When the air conditioner is running and I turn on any light under the passenger side cabinets, the thermostat will shut off and all lights go dark. This doesn't affect the undercabinet lights on the driver side nor the overhead flourescents. After less than a minute, the thermostat will restart the a/c and the lights come back on. This happened 2 or 3 times several months ago; and just happened twice today. Anyone else have this happen to them?

General Discussion / Backup camera system
« on: May 16, 2017, 12:04:50 pm »
The Sony backup system on our 2012 2400 Sprinter went blue screen with intrrmittent recovery. We checked all cables coming out of the camera and into the monitor and seems tight. A y ideas?   (WH).  :)(:

General Discussion / PC 2400 tire pressure question
« on: April 05, 2017, 09:21:13 pm »
I'm sure this has been discussed a bunch, and Jatrax has a similar post just ahead of mine; but my search hasn't really helped me much. . .probably because I'm somewhat on the dense end of the brain train.  (exactly) The tire pressure label on the door of our 2400 Sprinter shows tire pressure as 61psi in all tires.  Our Cooper tires say max pressure is 80psi.  My forum search seems to say at near full loaded weight on a 2350 Ford E350 (similar size rig) rear duals should be at 65psi and front tires at 70psi.  :help

Are there any 2400 owners who might have a good idea as to what pressure I should shoot for?  Inquiring minds want to know!  (nod)    :)(:
