General Discussion / Sprinter fuse
« on: January 27, 2014, 02:39:33 pm »
For Sprinter owners - there is a 20 amp fuse - I think it's a-23 that Mercedes has recommended to be replaced with a 25... This is in the starting circuit  and the mechanic just told me the new units are still coming through with the 20s --- I don't think its a big issue, but you might want to replace, or tell your mechanic...

General Discussion / Sofa bed
« on: April 12, 2012, 03:41:25 pm »
I think the world knows how I felt about the air mattress on the sofa bed in my Sprinter!!!

The folks at Phoenix replaced the monster with a tri fold, electric model they used previously with EXTRA foam and, boy, what a difference!!!!  If any of you all dislike the air mattress half as much as I did, I heartily recommend this change -- FWIW, it makes all the difference in the world!!! Give Stuart or Amanda a call....and sleep well!

All the best,
Jack

Does anyone have any information on Newfoundland?  We're planning a trip there, along with PEI this summer.

Thanks,

General Discussion / More Sani Con
« on: April 30, 2011, 03:44:35 pm »
Finally went through all the manuals th"shore powerat came with the new PC (even had one on the 115V "shore power" cable!!!  Anyway, with the SaniCon stuff was a procedure for discharging the tanks:  A summary--

     1. Open black water tank valve & turn on pump until ank empties
     2. Turn off pump and open grey water valve this will allow grey water to drain into black water tank for about one minute.
     3.  Close grey water tank valve.
     4.  Turn on pump and again drain black water tank
     5.  Repeat step 2, 3 & 4.
     6.  Open grey water tank valve & allow some to enter black water tank, then drain rest of grey water.
By using grey water with detergent, it will tend to clean black water tank and eliminate the need for flushing. Also, a little grey water in the black water tank eliminates the need to initially put fresh water in the black tank.

Just thought I'd pass this on FWIW---(there was also the proceedure for leveling both tanks when "dry"camping that Ron mentioned some time ago)

General Discussion / Refer on while traveling?
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:22:12 am »
I have always traveled with the refrigerator off, but am told to leave it on.  I'm curious -- do most trave with it on?  If so, do you leave it in the elec. mode and let the inverter handle it, or do you leave it in "gas" or "auto" and let the gas control?  If in the gas mode, do you shut it off while fueling?

Thanks,

Jack

General Discussion / New 2552
« on: April 09, 2011, 07:09:08 am »
We picked up our new 2552 this week -- quite a change from the  2350 (2006) -- the extra 2 feet makes a lot of diffeerence on the inside.  Also, I found it much better in handling in the wind, and we had a lot of it going to IN and coming back.  Also, I've bought many things in my "young life" and not found a place where EVERYONE was so cooperative and eager to please a customer -- quite refreshing.
