General Discussion / Cabinet door latches
« on: October 12, 2014, 05:24:46 pm »
Has anyone replaced the plastic door latches in your PC with something stronger that really keeps those doors closed while traveling?  On our recent trip, several of our doors managed to fly open.  We tried some of the magnetic latches and they weren't great either.  We have had our motorhome for five years now and after 30,000 miles those latches just aren't holding.  We have replaced some with the plastic latches that we originally had but would like something much stronger.  Thanks for your help.

Adventure Anywhere / Wonderful trip to Utah and Colorado
« on: October 02, 2014, 04:04:37 pm »
We just returned from a wonderful three-week trip to the parks in Utah and also the San Juan Mountains in Colorado.  While in Moab, I did see another Phoenix Cruiser at the Visitor Center, leaving one of the campgrounds along the Colorado River and they were also entering Deadhorse State Park as we were leaving.  I so wanted to meet these people but we never managed to connect.  Just a quick wave.  We really had a great time and it was hard to head home.  There just never seems to be quite enough time to do everything we would like to do.  We definitely plan to head back that way when possible.  The Million Dollar Highway was just as wonderful as everyone has said and we didn't find it all that difficult to drive as the road was in great condition and we had plenty of room.  On a different trip, we thought the highway going up to Jeremy in Arizona was more difficult.  Of course, my husband was doing the mountain driving and I just had to sit back and relax.  Both he and the PC did a great job.  We thoroughly enjoyed the little village of Silverton in Colorado.  My husband's father worked the mines there in that area in the early 1900's.  When we arrived and visited the museum, they invited us to take part in their 50th anniversary the next day.  Everyone was very friendly and we had a great time there.

General Discussion / Small, quiet electric heater suggestions???
« on: August 26, 2014, 02:37:08 pm »
Hi everyone.

We are finally attempting to get our act together here and head out in a couple of weeks to the mountains.  Does anyone have a suggestion on which small, quiet, electric heater to purchase for times when we are hooked into electric at a campground?  We normally just do our boondocking but there may be times when we are in a campground with electricity available.  Thank you.

I have received a personal message from a lady who is not yet a member.  I have been attempting to respond to her and so far, haven't had any luck doing so.  I received the message in my e-mail inbox, hit the link to view it, read it and attempted to reply.  What I wrote was there but when I attempted to send it to her using the name she signed in her message, since she isn't yet a member, it wouldn't recognize her.

Gail, if by chance you are reading this, please reply to this message and I will try to figure this out.  I haven't been using the Forum a lot and I am lost in figuring out how to do this.

Has anyone traveled the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado with their Phoenix Cruiser?  We are attempting to come up with a few ideas for visiting Colorado in September.  I'm wondering if it is really difficult to drive that highway with a 2350 and also if diesel is available on it.  We would love to just putz around down there and check out the various little towns along the way.  Any information on favorite campsites would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Adventure Anywhere / Advice on visiting Glacier National Park
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:42:20 pm »
Wondering if any of you have visited Glacier National Park.  We are thinking of possibly doing so in our 2350.  I realize that the Going to the Sun Road will not accommodate our PC.  We are traveling with a small dog.  Have any of you rented a car to travel on this road?  We would like to take our dog with us so are thinking that might be an option.  He doesn't do well in kennels and obviously is spoiled rotten but we love him.  Thanks for any suggestions.

General Discussion / Hubcaps on 2010 2350
« on: January 19, 2013, 01:59:17 pm »
Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their hubcaps coming loose and falling off.  We lost one of ours a couple of years ago on a freeway.  Luckily, no one was hurt when it flew across the traffic.  We ordered a new one from the factory as a replacement.  All was fine for a while and my husband checks them at every stop to make sure they are on tight.  Just recently, he noticed that one was able to just come off easily with his fingers.  They are pretty and we like them but don't want to lose another one.  Any suggestions of what to do other than replace the wheels which would be expensive.

Thanks for any suggestions,

General Discussion / Replacement coach batteries
« on: November 21, 2012, 02:22:55 pm »
We have a 2010 2350 Sprinter PC.  The coach batteries are beginning to get a little weak.  Just wondering what brands of batteries you folks are replacing your old batteries with.  It is time to start shopping for new ones.

General Discussion / Replacing cutting board with a drawer????
« on: August 14, 2012, 12:10:37 am »
Hi all.  It has been ages since I have been on the Forum and I am completely braindead as far as using it.  I recall that someone once upon a time mentioned replacing the cutting board with a drawer or pull out shelf.  I'm thinking that it was Judi but I can't for the life of me find that post.  We would like to replace the board in our 2350 with something as we aren't using the board.  Thanks for your help.

Adventure Anywhere / Exploring the State of Colorado
« on: April 30, 2012, 01:37:10 pm »
We are thinking of exploring the State of Colorado in late summer, early fall.  We would especially like to travel through Silverton, Durango, Breckenridge areas.  Has anyone out there taken this trip with your PC?  Any ideas on good campsites or places to explore?  We will be traveling with our small dog.  My husband has relatives scattered throughout the state so we hope to do some visiting and just plain kicking back and seeing the sights.  Thank you for any suggestions>

General Discussion / Dual tire Inflator Problem
« on: September 16, 2010, 06:04:03 pm »
Just wanted to let everyone know what happened to us on our recent trip.  We have a 2010 2350 Sprinter with the dual tire inflators.  We heard a noise which my husband thought was gravel.  I thought it sounded more like the tanks were falling off.  We were on a back road but a good paved road looking for our campsite and traveling about 45 mph.  A car behind us beeped at us and we pulled over.  He said that our hubcap had fallen off into the ditch.  We stopped to check out the tires.  We found that the inner dual tire had no valve stem in it.  The valve stem was pulled totally out of the rim and the tire was totally without any air pressure.  The outside dual tire was about three-fourths full but was leaking fast.  The braided steel extender had broken off near the rim and was leaking air.  My husband immediately removed the broken extender from the valve to stop the leak.  This left us with about one-half of the tire pressure in the outside dual.  Fortunately for us, we were about a half mile from the interstate highway where there was an all night service center for trucks.  They changed out our inner dual with our spare tire and inflated our outside dual.  The next day, we went to a tire center and replaced the valve stems in both tires, removed the braided extenders from the other dual tires and had them install smaller extenders that do not need to be bolted to the hubcaps.  When the hubcap fell off, it also did damage to the fender well of the coach that will need about $800 of body work.  We were very fortunate that this happened where it did so we could get help and go on with our trip.  My husband is very thorough about checking the coach before and during our trips.  We are thinking that the vibrations just loosened things up.  I'm not sure if there is a better solution to avoiding this problem in the future.

General Discussion / Bathroom in 2350
« on: February 16, 2010, 04:49:30 pm »
Hello.  We have a very nice 2010 2350 Sprinter.  I'm attempting to figure out the best way to get the most out of it.  As you know, the bathroom is very small.  How in the world do you folks shower in it?  Do you sit on one of those little plastic stools in the corner or?  Also, anyone found a good place to position a toilet paper holder and towel racks?  I'm not a huge person at all of 5' 2" but found it really confining.  I was thinking that perhaps the best way to dry towels would be on suction type hooks but wanted to ask what most of you are doing.
