George and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy new year--

I just checked on Reserve America and site 28 at Franklin Locks COE is available for Jan. 1, 2 and 3rd so if anyone is in the Ft. Myers area and would like to meet some very nice PC Forum members, we will be there as well as Barry and Sue and Syd and Margo. Sort of a mini reunion========

Tips and Tricks / New Cabinet behind driver's seat in our 2910
« on: October 06, 2012, 02:03:17 pm »
I  finally finshed the installation of our cabinet between the slide and the driver's seat. It took a while but we are very happy with the outcome. We will use that space for remotes, cameras, binoculars and other miscellaneous stuff.

I relocated the guages, as you can see from the attached pictures. The driver's seat will go back all the way but it will only recline about 50% or so. I never recline in it anyway.

Adventure Anywhere / W.P. Franklin COE Park near Ft. Myers
« on: October 03, 2012, 10:13:11 am »
I guess the mattress post got hijacked so I have put it under the correct heading--

It will be fun to meet up with other PC owners at Franklin Locks COE Park in January. It is a really nice, clean, peaceful COE Park. If any of you will be in Florida in the 1st week of January and can get reservations, please join us. We plan to christen our 2910 on the 2nd!  y-- y-- :)(: :)(: and appetizers.

Actually, we like Franklin Locks so well that I just made reservations for Oct. 21,22 and 23. It's enjoyable to watch the boats go through the locks on the Caloosahatchie River (and it's just $12 per night with the Senior Pass)

Adventure Anywhere / gettysburg pa
« on: August 19, 2012, 07:38:16 am »
We have decided not to head to Acadia this year but instead we have decided to check out Gettysburg, PA on our way to DC.

We are in MA now and will stay here until the 27th and then head toward Gettysburg stopping at Promised Land State Park to check out the new Pickerel Point Campground there. We have made reservations at Coduros (sp) State Park in Hanover PA for 3 nights. Plan on heading to Gettysburg for a day trip. Is there anything else that we should see while in the area?

The next stop is Cherry Hill Campground for 5 nights. That will give us plenty of time to see what we haven't seen in DC. Then on home!

Any suggestions of what to see would be helpful.

Tips and Tricks / request from those with slide experience
« on: July 15, 2012, 02:53:31 pm »

This is a request from those who have experience with slides. Since, this is the first slide that we have had, we need guidance  about maintenance recommendations.
Do you use slide supports?
How do you maintain the rubber seals?
Do you add insulation to the underside?
How do you keep out bugs, mice or toads?

Tips and Tricks / Our 2910 Single slide
« on: June 30, 2012, 11:45:08 am »
Here are some photos of our 2910, single slide with twin beds>

We had the factory add a mirror behind the sink and adjacent to the stove to prevent  spatters on the wood. We had them fashion the drop-down shelf out of the solid surface material. We removed the cutting board and installed a slide out untensil holder.

The beds are longer than the 2551. Storage under the passenger side bed is accessible from the outside or lifting the bed from the inside. It also has a cabinet door on the inside. Now we have storage for our zero gravity chairs, the grill, shop vac, outdoor tables and more. Under the driver's side bed, the cabinet door gives storage for two laundry baskets. Kermit knew we were concerned about storage so he maximized storage areas as much as possible.

Between the two beds there is a nightstand.

General Discussion / OOPs, we did it again: Again

Hmai all
We picked up the "new baby" on Friday. We are now in Nashville on our way home to Florida.

We have had it two days now and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! No need to commit us. The folks at the factory were super (as always) and couldn't do enough to get us on our way.

Now to get her home, plan for the next trip and make a few additions/deletions.

General Discussion / 2012 PC Brochure correction
« on: May 25, 2012, 04:22:15 pm »
If you look on page 23 of the 2012 Phoenix Cruiser Brochure, you will see two photos of our PCs with the comment that we  are three time Phoenix Cruiser owners. We were not (typo)--But now we are!!! (Nuts???) Three in 3 years! YUP---.

We will be picking up our new 2910 single slide with twin beds in the rear in a couple of weeks. It is now at the paint shop.

The forward part is exactly like the 2 slide 2910 with a few custom touches. The rear has twin beds with a nightstand between. The head and the  shower is in the mid section.

So, off we go to Elkhart leaving FL on June 1  to pick up our new "baby". That bug has really bitten us!

Don't bother to have us committed~~~~~~~~~ We are as happy as pigs in ****.

General Discussion / AJ's toilet
« on: March 11, 2012, 09:39:47 am »
I would suggest getting up on the roof to check the vent pipes. It is simple to do. Remove the screw from the top and pull up the cover. First, check inside the cover for insect nests. Second, look down the pipe for any blockage. Third, flush the pipe with a garden hose. Finally,  pour a mixture of water and toilet sanitizer down the vent pipe.

Adventure Anywhere / Go West Young Man (or old man, whichever!!)
« on: February 28, 2012, 05:50:26 pm »
Hi all,
We are in the planning stages of our trip from Florida to the Grand Canyon and then down through Tucson to I10 and back home--Sort of the "Great Loop" (minus the boat).

Here is the route, so far.
I10 to I49 through Shreveport then I20 through Dallas to I287 to Amarillo. Onto I40 through New Mexico to Williams and up to the South Rim. Thought 5 days would be sufficient at the Canyon. We then head to Scottsdale to visit the daughter and then to Karcher Caverns in AZ for a couple of days and then on through TX back to FL.

This is planned for Sept-Oct.

Can anyone give us info on where to stay, what not to miss etc?

Tips and Tricks / Storing dishes
« on: November 07, 2011, 08:26:49 am »
Hi All,
I am wondering how you store your dishes in the PC. When we bought the 2350, I bought a plastic coated wire dish holder and placed it in the cupboard above the sink. The dishes that we use are melamine.

Did the same when we got the 2551. On the way back from our trip this summer, the latch failed and all the dishes came crashing out and some broke. We got new latches from Carol at the factory so the door is now secure but I would like to find another way to store the dishes.

What do you do?

Tips and Tricks / easy to carry/strore laundry detergent
« on: October 30, 2011, 10:07:35 am »
When we took our 2 month trip last summer, I brought along Purex Complete 3-in -1 laundry sheets. They have detergent, fabric softener and anti-static all in one sheet. They come in a plastic dispenser-20 sheets. Easy to store and use. Just drop the sheet in the washer and put it in the dryer. Works well.

Just had lunch of fried clams, on the way back to the campground took a little scenic detour along the waterfront and this is what we found---------2008 2350 belonging to the Goldens from Massachusetts.

General Discussion / Tow Vehicle and Insurance
« on: September 20, 2011, 07:34:43 am »
We thought that we could get away without towing but that is not happening. We bought a used Tracker to tow. Now we have to get the thing set up for towing and registered etc.

Since we have never had a tow before, I wonder if anyone can give us any hints at what to expect when I call insurance companies for quotes.

We have our MH insured with Geico and the house and car with Hartford. I don't know if Hartford will write the policy for a vehicle that we are going to tow so I'll call them as well as Geico.

Any suggestions will be helpful so that I don't sound like a complete airhead.
