I have a new Phoenix Cruiser(PC) Model 3100 4X4 on order.  I have requested some custom work to be done on my new unit.  I have a signed Build List and several change orders issued-a very informal process, but I'm not sure if Phoenix Cruiser will implement all my custom requests.  I have made multiple email contact with PC staff asking them to verify that they will make all the custom changes, but they will not respond.

Have any other members had problems getting custom work done?

Have any other members had problems with PC staff not responding to emails?

I suspect everyone at PC receives a tremendous amount of email.  We found calling the sales mgr (left a VM) asking for a copy of each change order got us exactly what we needed. Just call the main PC number as ask for your salesman or the sales mgr.  Good luck!

We have a 4x4 2552 going through the plant as well with the same issue. I will try calling direct in hopes of getting more timely answers. Email does create a written record though and that is why I use it.

I put in a change order with Earl on his last day, he must've forgotten to send me a copy.  Huh, last day can't imagine why. LOL   I called about a week later and left a message for Keith and less than an hour later he called me to let me know he just emailed me the order.  He was very friendly on the phone and was insistent that I call him with any other questions.

To the person having a Phoenix Cruiser 2552 4X4 begin built, how long did it take for Quigley to do the conversion.  I spoke with Quigley yesterday and they have 601 pending orders, I'm number 601-doesn't sound good.

I don't know what number we were at Quigley, but once we ordered our chassis from Ford, it took Quigley about five months to get it to Phoenix. Phoenix doesn't get too excited( meaning they really don't want to think much about your build) until they have the chassis. Our complete coach took about a year, that included a long holiday break, and some redos at phoenix.
Another option that people are sometimes not aware of: Basically buy any Ford cutaway complete motorhome and have a 4x4 conversion done. There are some guidelines as to what coach, but you will end up with the same end result, and maybe sooner, if that is a concern.

Ok Jam4travel, we ordered our 2552 4x4 unit late Sept 2017, no Ford chassis in stock at PC so it shipped directly to Quigley from Ford arriving around mid Dec. At that time we were told we were in a line behind 300 other units at #301. Quigley called PC to pick it up March 9th 2018. PC sent a truck and it was in Elkhart by around March 20th, off to Moryde for stretching and back to PC to start production as April 2nd.
Remember that patience is a virtue and good things take time, we know it will be worth the wait although #601 is going to take some serious time! Hope this helps. - Dick and Chris

I compiled a list of all of our requests - build list plus details of all change orders and mailed them to PC, attn. Keith and asked him to verify all items on the list. The Controller replied via email with her list, and all items she had agreed with mine. So, I was quite happy.

Have any other members had problems getting custom work done?

Have any other members had problems with PC staff not responding to emails?

I also have had several emails go unanswered.  I find that a little unsettling.  My wife and I did drive up to Elkhart and met with Barry Hyser on Monday the 16th.  Enjoyed the tour and visit with Barry.  Started the process on a 3100.  I'm still a little concerned about how the process will move along, but time will tell.  I was really disappointed in figuring out what the color options are.  I hope to get that nailed down.

Hi BFT,
I too had concerns about the color choices - how do you pick something out from a website?  My husband and I ordered sight unseen and were unable to get to Indiana until pickup so I was going by what sales was trying to describe to me over the phone and what things looked like on videos......until I  happened upon the same subject somewhere on the forum where someone was sent samples.  I asked the sales person and they had Carol at PC kindly send out a package that included all the different fabric, corian and rug samples. I can't tell you how glad I am that I requested the samples as the original desert sand interior we ordered, while beautiful, would have been a disaster for us with our 4 legged family members who will be traveling with us.  We were able to change the interior to toast where the leather is quite a bit darker.  I also asked and was told that you can mix and match some things if you desire so I could have had all desert sand fabrics but with toast leather, or toast interior but with desert sand corian, etc.
I hope that helps.

Two weeks ago I had a problem with an electrical component , I called Phoenix, talked to Carol ,and the part I needed was delivered to my home three days later at a very reasonable price. Excellent service! To those of you trying to decide on a color, do a nationwide search on all late model Phoenix Cruisers for sale, check the ads in RV Trader, RVT, Craigslist etc., and look at the colors in the ads; this will give you an idea of what to expect. Be aware that the colors will change or differ depending on the camera, lighting , and other factors, but it should help you decide what you like best.
To those of you having communication problems, I certainly hope that Phoenix gets their act together and works on improving this, I understand your frustration. Not knowing is often worse than receiving disappointing news. Try to not let the problems you have encountered early on spoil the thrill of getting your new RV , I have had nightmares with other brands of rvs Ive owned but have been very satisfied with the two Phoenixs Cruisers I have owned.

Your advise is excellent for people deciding on a color for their PC.

Back in 2007 when we were deciding on the full-body exterior color for our PC, we really leaned heavily on the green color offered at the time.  Unfortunately the Phoenix sales brochure did not show one, nor could we find any PC on the internet in that full body green color.  While at the factory, we asked for pictures of the full body green.  The only offering was a printer copy of a copy of a photograph which was impossible to work with.  We did see a lower body green color in-person while there which did not fancy us.  So we decided on the next best color preference which was the gray as shown on the cover of the 2007 brochure.

Maybe 3 years later, nice pictures of the full body green started showing on the internet.  Our hearts sank when we saw them.  We love that color so much.  We should have gone with our instinct.

Our full body gray colored PC which we like.

A full body green colored PC which we love.
