Putting cell phone antenna on a pole

We'll be spending close to four months at Flaming Gorge during our visitor center stint next summer. The cell signal was not good at the volunteer campground and the other hosts had those long rods on the back of their rigs with receivers on top.

Has anyone done this? If yes, what is your set up? Receiver / pole / mounting mechanism

Our little antenna and booster helped but I'd like to improve it for long stays. Part of our problem was a big rig on each side of us. We had signal before they pulled in. Not so much after.

The ones I've seen appear to be PVC pipe poles which are awfully big and heavy for us to drag around all the time. I'm hoping for a sleeker solution.

Hi there.  Hope your shoulder healed and recouped!! Wanted to share link to YouTube video by Robyn at CREATIVITY RV (her videos are short, to the point and packed with well-researched information). She shows a pole extension solution towards the end of this video:  https://youtu.be/x2Q2e0uFgQY
regards, Joan

Thanks Joan, I'll check out the video!

The elbow is ok. I had surgery two weeks ago to remove bone chips and reattach tendons. My monster splint and big blue whale sling hopefully come off this Friday. Then a hinged brace for a while, rehab center for a bit, then will do my own rehab on the road. I probably wouldn't have needed surgery if the Charleston hospital hadn't caught a bone chip in the joint when they reset the dislocation. No pins or internal hinge things... Just my own parts back where they belong. The surgery should short cut the rehab by stabilizing the joint. I can't wait to have all my typing fingers back!

That cold sink is rolling toward Maryland. We're hoping it warms a bit after it passes since we're stuck here a few more weeks and most campgrounds here have closed. We are back in the son's driveway. After Maryland we go freeze in Elkhart for a bit to get our converter replaced then we aim for WARM!
