Campground near PC factory
« on: August 20, 2011, 10:59:32 am »
We’re making a trip to the factory next month for some minor fixes while still under warrantee.  Where’s the best place to stay close to there?  Then headed to the Indiana Dunes.  Same questions – any recommendations on a campground?
I remember very few of the things that I’ve spent money to buy, but I remember all of the places that I’ve spent money to see.

We've stayed at the Elkhart Campground.  It is just about 10 minutes from the factory so very convienient.  Nice place but water is rusty.  So if you go fill your tanks at home.  Met two other PC owners when we were there.

We've also stayed about 30 minutes away at the Shipshewana South Campground.  Nice place as well and just a 1/2 mile from the flea market.  Water was much better.

How much were the fleas?
Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

We stayed at Elby's Pines the first night in our trade in unit. Sites where all on hills. Then we moved to Shipshewana South Campground after we got the PC. Nice campground with level sites.
We saw a lot of people shopping at the flea market but did not see any fleas shopping. roflol

Thanks for the replis.  Kinda forgot.  We stayed at Shipshewana Campground many years ago – think we’ll try that again.  We went to the flea market, but it was in late fall and a lot of the venders were gone (no fleas left).  Maybe it’ll still be good in September.  I do remember being awakened at 5:00 in the morning with “clip-clop-clip-clop,” the Amish on the way to town.  Billy, like your saying at the bottom of your reply, “Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”  Reminds of one my favorite sayings:

If you always do
What you’ve always done,
You’ll always get
Get what’s you’ve always got.

I have stayed at Camp Phoenix - very quiet & no fleas.  As for the dunes, there is a nice Michigan State Park a few miles up the coast from Indiana.  There you can stay right in the dunes.
